What Are The 6 Core Competencies?
The 6 Core Competencies are the foundation of the Future Readiness Project, helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and mindsets needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
Through these competencies, students learn to think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate with others, and approach challenges with creativity and confidence. They also build strong character and real-world understanding that prepare them to adapt, lead, and succeed in college, career, and life.
By the time they graduate, students are not only academically prepared—they’re future ready, equipped with the tools to pursue their goals and make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.
Artifacts
An artifact is a piece of evidence that demonstrates your growth, skills, and learning in one of the six Core Competencies of the Future-Readiness Project:
Character
Communication
Collaboration
Content Knowledge
Creativity
Critical Thinking
Artifacts show what you have done, created, learned, or experienced — and how that connects to your future goals. They can come from classes, extracurricular activities, athletics, clubs, jobs, volunteer work, leadership roles, or personal projects.
An artifact is not just an assignment, it is proof of your development and reflection. Use the objectives under each Core Competencies to decide if the artifact shows your understanding and mastery of the listed objective.
