Upcoming Artist in Residence: Gabrielle Lewis will lead a full-school K–5 residency at Sorensen titled “What’s for Lunch?” The project is a collaborative mixed-media series created in the art room and permanently displayed in the cafeteria, emphasizing foundational 2D art concepts, material exploration, and collective student voice. Each grade will be assigned an animal for the mural.

Gabrielle is a muralist and an illustrator. She has two art degrees, BA- Film, BFA- Graphic Design from Montana State University- Bozeman. Her style is in illustrated realism, which is a highly personal style of art that pulls on realist art techniques and subject matter to create collaged images and subject matter that would never be real. Her process involves digital designs and vector assets, as well as, painting with acrylic and watercolor.

She is currently located in Coeur d’Alene and travels for work. Recently she completed a mural on the 223 East Sherman building, owned by Sorensen grandparent of Bee Terranova (2nd grade), currently housing our local Sotheby’s office.
