My name is Michael Emory, and I teach 8th Grade Earth Science at Woodland Middle School. The 2024-25 school year will be my 31st year in the instructional facilitation profession.
I received my B.A. degree from the University of Delaware and earned my M.Ed. from Wilmington College. Since 1998, I have attended the University of Idaho for continuing credits in Science, technology and education training.
My wife, Jennifer, is also a teacher, and I have two sons in the district. My hobbies include most outdoor recreational activities.
Students in 8th grade Earth Science will use hands-on, lab experiences to investigate the role of energy in systems, the BIG IDEA linking science instruction in 6th through 8th grades. Students perform investigations in groups, developing collaborative and interpersonal communication skils. Concept information is presented in multiple formats to meet the strengths of kinesthetic, visual, and auditory learners. All assignments and supporting instructional materials are available on the student's Google Classroom folder.
