Dear Winton Families,

We have almost made it through September and are ready to welcome October! With this new month comes the changing of our beautiful North Idaho weather. Please be sure your child has a sweatshirt or coat with their name on it for chilly mornings and recess times. Even if there is light rain, students will still go outside.

Today, students participated in their first fire drill of the year. Teachers discussed the purpose of drills with their classes, and as always, safety remains our top priority. Next Tuesday, September 30th, students will take part in a lockdown and safety hold drill. While we know these drills can sometimes feel a little scary or create anxiety, they are very important in helping us be prepared should an emergency ever occur.

Attendance Reminder: Please help us reach our monthly attendance goal of 95%! Every day counts. Even if a student isn’t feeling their best, we encourage them to come to school—we can provide extra support as they transition into their classrooms if needed.

Upcoming Event: The District Cross Country Race will be held next Thursday, October 2nd, at the Fairgrounds. If your child is participating, please allow extra time for parking and locating our team, as the event tends to be busy.

Celebrating Success: This Friday, we held our first “Leader of the Pack” celebration, honoring students who demonstrated citizenship. We are so proud of our Winton Wolves for embracing the “Winton Way” and showing what it means to be positive members of our school community.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support!
