About The Teacher

Olga Mazhan has been working in Secondary Education since 2006 in Alaska schools. She moved to Idaho and started teaching math at Venture Academy in 2021. She enjoys cooking, traveling, outdoor activities, and entertaining her 4 grandkids in her spare time.

About The Class

Mazhan believes that all students can develop an understanding of key ideas and progress in mathematics if they are given problems that help them connect math concepts to real-world scenarios. Through critical thinking discussions, hands-on learning, cooperative learning, and projects she strives to create a safe space where students can share ideas, take risks, and grow mentally, emotionally, and socially while practicing mathematics.
