I am so excited to be here as a second grade teacher! I feel extremely blessed to work at an arts integration magnet school.  From what we do everyday INSIDE the classroom, to what opportunities are available to students outside of the classroom, Sorensen is a really, really great place for learners.  As we navigate these constantly changing times, I look forward to your partnership in growing your child academically through high expectations, accountability, hard work, fun, agency, and creativity.  

My name is Ashley Tenney.  I have been teaching at Sorensen since 2020. I have been married to the love of my life since 2019.  In my free time, I like to read, knit and spend time with family and friends. I also love to enjoy the beauty that North Idaho has to offer. One random fact about me is that I speak French. Some of my favorite things are music, chocolate, books, zipfizz (Sadly I can't drink coffee lol), the color purple, and Snoopy! You will see Snoopy all over my classroom.  I like the reminder that Snoopy brings; it is good to be creative, filled with wonder, keep trying, and do your best every day! At school, I am passionate about arts integration, Workshop Model, science instruction, technology, curriculum and assessment best practices, and student engagement.  I have my B.S Ed from University of Idaho. I have my English as a New Language endorsement.  In 2021, I was the recipient of the Invest Innovate Inspire award. I am a lifelong learner who has discovered that each day brings new discoveries!  I look forward to working with you!
