Balanced Beginnings 2026-2027

Dear Kindergarten Parents/Guardians,

We are so very excited to welcome you to Skyway. The Coeur d’ Alene School District intends to host a balanced beginning for all incoming Kindergarten students. Skyway will conduct our Balanced Beginning from Tuesday, September 8 to Friday, September 11. 

Students will come to Skyway for a half day these first four days of school (morning sessions only). Students will resume the full day schedule on Monday, September 14, 2026. 

This gentle introduction to the routines of school will help your child feel safe, prepared, and successful as they transition to FULL DAY kindergarten the following week. This will also allow our teachers to get to know your child better to ensure the best fit and placement for each student.  We are providing this information to you now, so you have time to make adjustments in your daycare or work schedules to accommodate our “Balanced Beginning” program. 

Please be sure you have made transportation arrangements for your student as MID-DAY busing will NOT be available during “Balanced Beginning”.  If a mid day pick up is not possible, please contact Skyway’s administration and we will work with you to make alternative plans.

Morning Session-8:55-11:30

Lunch and Recess-11:30-12:00

Dismissal-12:00

Back to School Night for all Skyway students will be Wednesday, September 2 from 4:30 to 6:00. We encourage Kinder parents to come to this event so that you can meet the teachers, visit the classrooms, and familiarize your students with the school.
