Carolyn Lee 1

Carolyn Lee builds lasting relationships. Many students she first taught in kindergarten or first grade still come back to her years later for support, encouragement, or just to say hello.

Carolyn is well respected and loved at Ramsey Magnet School of Science. For her amazing commitment to learning, Lee is the district’s Elementary School Educator of the Month for September.

Carolyn Lee 2“Carolyn may be our Title I teacher, but her impact stretches far beyond reading instruction,” said Ramsey principal Crystal Silvers. “She is at the heart of so much that makes our school a supportive and welcoming place for kids.”

Through the Title I program, Carolyn works with students who aren’t quite at grade level in reading. Title I is a federal program that provides extra support to students who are not yet at grade level in reading or math. A Title I teacher works with these students in small groups or one-on-one, giving them the extra instruction and practice they need to grow. The goal is to close learning gaps early so every child can be successful in school.

“Carolyn guides our multi-tiered system of supports, runs interventions, and helps us track student growth from kindergarten through fifth grade,” said Silvers. “But her contributions go well beyond academics. Carolyn organizes beginning-of-year retreats for every homeroom class to build community and connect with our school theme. She jumps in to cover duties and classrooms whenever needed, supports colleagues as a member of the leadership team, and offers a safe, quiet space where students can take breaks and reset.”

A multi-tiered system of support is how our schools make sure every student gets the right help at the right time—whether that’s strong classroom instruction, small-group support, or individualized attention.

We are grateful to Carolyn for her dedication, her care, and the countless ways she helps our students and staff thrive. Congratulations!
