Victoria Sandford, Family and Consumer Science instructor at Lake City High School was named a Soroptimist "Woman of Distinction" at a banquet in February.
Chartered in 1948 as the first civic service group for women, Soroptimist works to better the lives of women and girls in the local community and chose Sanford for her long-time dedication to local education and the insistence in developing young adults to live healthy and productive lives.
This is Mrs. Sandford's 23rd year in our school district, all at Lake City High School. She has taught a wide variety of courses including Adult Living, Culinary Arts, Nutrition and Foods, Teen Living, and leadership courses. She's also the advisor of the school's chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.
