18 Lakes Middle School students were part of this years Community Action Team through the organization, Generation Alive. The LMS Action Team put in over 270 community hours and produced 13,392 meals to be distributed in our community.
Through this action team, students learned:
- Needs that exist in our community
- What compassion means and how to communicate it
- That they do have a voice and can make a difference
- Leadership through inviting their peers to participate in serving with them
- Teamwork through working together to accomplish a shared goal
- How to fundraise for a cause they care about
- Other ways they can get involved in serving their community
