
Grade 9 Future Readiness
Grade 9 is the foundation year of the Future Readiness Project. During freshman year, students are introduced to the structure of the project, the six Core Competencies, and the tools they will use throughout high school to track growth, learning, and goals.
Students will focus on setting up their portfolios, completing introductory College and Career Readiness activities, and beginning to collect evidence of their learning and skills.

Grade 9 Expectations Include:
Create Future Readiness Portfolio templates
Students will set up their Future Readiness Portfolio, which will be used and built upon each year of high school.Complete Grade 9 College & Career Readiness activities
These activities introduce students to self-awareness and future planning, including lessons such as Personality Styles and other foundational career exploration tasks.Upload one artifact for each Core Competency
By the end of Grade 9, students will upload one artifact demonstrating learning or growth in each of the six Core Competencies:Character
Collaboration
Communication
Content Knowledge
Creativity
Critical Thinking
These artifacts may come from coursework, school activities, reflections, or other meaningful experiences and help students begin developing the habit of documenting their growth.
Grade 9 expectations are designed to be introductory and supportive, building confidence and understanding that will prepare students for more advanced portfolio work in future grades.
