Antonio Carrico, is a 2024 recipient of the Vandal Outstanding Educator Award!

From Mr. Carrico's nomination form:

"Mr. Carrico teaches DECA as well as other business-centered classes at Coeur d'Alene High School. I first started DECA because I thought I wanted to go into business, but by observing the profound impact Mr. Carrico had on the lives of students, I knew I wanted to do the same. Because of my experience in his class, I chose to pursue a degree in CTE- Business and Marketing. I discovered that I love helping students learn about personal finance and plan their future in the same way Mr. Carrico did for me and so many of my classmates. He encouraged us to be productive members of the school and community, and his classroom fostered an environment of creativity and ingenuity. Being a Vandal himself, Carrico can often be found at U of I football games or repping Vandal gear at school. Even for students who did not take business classes, Mr. Carrico was still a known and respected figure in the school. He is a football coach who is also deeply involved in school extracurriculars, from helping students run the biyearly blood drive to simply chatting with parents at a volleyball game. Antonio Carrico embodies the Vandal Outstanding Educator Award for the profound impact he has had on my life, the lives of countless students, and the community of Coeur d'Alene. Once a Vandal, Always a Vandal."

Congratulations, Mr. Carrico!
