The Coeur d’Alene School District is celebrating Carl Hosking and Lisa Rakes as its Classified Employees of the Year for 2025! We appreciate everything they do!
Carl Hosking, Facilities Manager, Lakes Middle School, has been serving the Coeur d'Alene School District for 31 years. Carl’s colleagues say he is the heart and soul of Lakes Middle School, working countless hours to ensure the building is safe, clean, and welcoming for everyone.
Whether he’s there early in the morning clearing snow or responding to any request with a smile, Carl’s dedication never goes unnoticed.
His willingness to go above and beyond, always with a positive attitude, is what makes him so deserving of this recognition. While Carl prefers to stay behind the scenes, we all know that much of what keeps Lakes running smoothly is due to his hard work and commitment. He is an essential part of our district community, and we are truly grateful for all that he does. Thank you, Carl, for everything you do—you are so appreciated!
Lisa Rakes, Library Manager, Lakes Middle School. There are so many things that make Lisa great. She has such drive and passion for reading and she shares it with Lakes students. She goes out of her way to support students outside of school at Children Canopy and she is always checking in on staff in the building.
She tutors after school at the Children's Village, organizes Spelling Bees and book give-a-ways, and comes in early for the students in the Pokémon club so they have a place to meet. She 100% believes in the students and absolutely loves what she does, and it shows. Congratulations Lisa, and thank you for all you do!
