Tom Tominlson, Tom Calder and Diana Wheelen made it possible for dozens of high school students to experience the trip of a lifetime.
The trio of District 271 bus drivers drove our students to Yellowstone National Park and back over the course of four days. For this, Tom, Diana and Tom, share the Department Classified Employee of the Month honor.
We cannot express enough gratitude for their kindness, good attitudes, patience, leadership, communication, flexibility, humor, and darn good driving skills for our trips to Yellowstone over the last three years.
They made the journey safely and smoothly, navigating windy roadways and wildlife, such as wolves, elk, deer and bison. The drivers helped students see geysers, hot springs and Old Faithful.
They always managed to park the buses in the perfect spots for students’ learning hikes, water quality testing and explorations of the human and natural history of Yellowstone.
Congratulations to each of you, and thank you for going the extra mile for our students and staff!
