Christina Carlson

It's our honor to recognize Ms. Christina Carlson as the Coeur d’Alene School District’s High School Rookie Teacher of the Year. Ms. Carlson brings a remarkable blend of intentionality, energy, and compassion to her classroom.

She has implemented an engaging and consistent workshop model that includes interactive games, thought-provoking reflection prompts, and meaningful discourse structures—all of which foster deep student connection and critical thinking. Ms. Carlson has found creative ways to make health education not only informative but truly transformative.

Whether it's introducing her students to line dancing, taking them back to childhood games like Four Square, or leading them through the First Aid elective she helped launch, Ms. Carlson ensures her students see movement and health as fun, approachable, and essential parts of their daily lives. Her work is about more than academics—it’s about empowering students to live healthier, more connected lives.

Ms. Carlson also works intentionally to ensure education transcends the classroom. Through strategic community partnerships and guest speakers, she brings real-world application into her curriculum, equipping students with practical skills and life-saving knowledge. Her students leave her class more confident, more prepared, and more aware of their ability to impact their own lives and their communities.

Ms. Carlson, thank you for the example you set and the joy you bring to your students and our school.
