We are excited to announce that our February Coeur d'Alene Regional Chamber Education Committee and Northwest Specialty Hospital, Elementary Teacher of the Month is Kelly Bridges, 3rd Grade Teacher at Fernan STEM Academy.
From Fernan Principal Kathy Livingston:
"Mrs. Bridges exemplifies what it means to be an exceptional educator, and her contributions to our school are truly commendable.
One of Kelly’s greatest strengths is her ability to create a classroom family. Mrs. Bridges is passionate about establishing a safe and respectful classroom environment, masterfully crafting a community where students collaborate and take responsibility for running classroom meetings and fulfilling various roles. It is a genuinely warm and caring place where students thrive.
Mrs. Bridges’ classroom is characterized by highly positive interactions, high expectations, and a culture that celebrates hard work and accomplishments. Her students know their expectations, collaborate effectively, and encourage one another to engage in learning. They are taught and utilize nonverbal communication to show encouragement and agreement, fostering a supportive environment. Despite having a large class of third graders this year, Kelly consistently provides individualized feedback and differentiation, ensuring that each child feels valued and capable.
In addition to her classroom work, Kelly believes strongly in providing the necessary interventions and tools for students to reach their full potential. As a vital member of our MTSS team, she offers valuable input and support for both Fernan students and staff.
We are incredibly proud to have Kelly as a member of our ‘Fernan Family.’ Her dedication and passion for teaching make a lasting impact on our students and the entire school community."
Congratulations, Kelly, on this well-deserved recognition!
