We are pleased to announce that Eli Bardwell, 8th grader at Canfield Middle School is the state winner of the Daughters of the American Revolution essay contest. He received an award certificate and a monetary award for winning first in the CDA chapter and, in addition, for winning first in state.
Eli's essay has been sent on to the next level of the competition. This level is called Division. It is comprised of eight Northwestern states. There is an overseas component included at this level. At the Division level, his essay will be judged against six other state winners and one overseas winner. The overseas winner could come from a US territory or an overseas US military base. The winner of Division will go to the National level of the competition.
