We are excited to announce our Department Classified Employee of the Month is Raelynn Loken, Mental Health Counselor.
Raelynn planned, organized and facilitated two large TBRI trainings for CDA School Staff. She set dates, hustled to find locations, organized a large facilitatory team, assigned tasks, created materials, shopped for snacks and contracted with catering. Both trainings were two full days and attended by more than 80 people. The class is so popular that it keeps
expanding and this year we had more than 15 people from outside the school district attend (and pay their own way). The days were full of information and activities, all well organized, and feedback was universally positive. Many participants stated they think the class should be mandatory for all staff and one teacher reported 2 months later that she is not sure what she would have done for her toughest student if she had not attended. Raelynn puts in dozens of hours of work to make this event interesting, informative and practical and it would not be done without her. I am grateful for all she does for the Mental Health Department but also the school district as a whole. She supports and coaches teachers at multiple schools helping them implement these TBRI principles and skills with the toughest of kiddos. Staff rely on her as a source of kindness, wisdom and safety during the storm.
Thanks Raelynn for all you do and more importantly, for who you are.
