Members of the Coeur d'Alene Elks Lodge #1254 have been donating dictionaries to every 3rd grader in the Coeur d'Alene School District for many years. For the past 15 years the Elks have partnered with Project SEARCH CDA to label the dictionaries and place bookmarks inside. This activity is a great way for Project SEARCH interns to connect with a civic organization and learn valuable skills. Some of our interns still have their dictionaries they received when they were in 3rd grade!
These dictionaries then get sorted by the school so that they can be delivered. This past Friday, Elks members delivered the dictionaries to all of our Coeur d'Alene School District 3rd graders. Our 3rd graders were so excited to have their very own dictionary. Lots of interesting facts can be found in these dictionaries including the world's longest word.
