Tech Support for Families
As Coeur d'Alene Public Schools continues some forms of online learning, the District’s Technology Department will provide limited remote support for District Technology resources. The Coeur d'Alene Technology Department will attempt to provide “best effort” support for:
District devices or accounts outside the school environment
Answer basic questions about personal device access to Coeur d'Alene technology resources and applications
This best effort may vary depending on many factors such as:
The number of people waiting for assistance from Coeur d'Alene Technology Staff
Knowledge of the responder and their understanding of district Technology resources
Responder's technology knowledge and experience
District Technology staff will only provide remote assistance and support and are not available to go offsite to address technology issues. Advice given by Coeur d'Alene Technology Support members should be followed at your own risk. The District will not take responsibility for the correct operation, maintenance or support of personal networks and personal devices.
For physical repair of district devices (broken screen, keyboard, battery issue, etc.), please communicate with techhelp@cdaschools.org or your school office or library to arrange repair. Accidental damage will be repaired at no cost the 1st time, but starting with the 2nd physical repair needed, the student may be charged $25, or the replacement cost of the device.
To reach Coeur d'Alene Technology Support please email techhelp@cdaschools.org anytime. Questions concerning the use of applications and resources assigned by teachers should be directed back to the teacher or staff member who assigned the work.
Digital Citizenship
Digital Citizenship is a crucial topic to include in educating students as technology has taken a more prominent role in education, curriculum, and learning. Coeur d'Alene School District recommends content from Common Sense Media to guide students to becoming positive digital citizens in their community. To partner with us and continue those conversations at home, here are more resources and activities located on the Common Sense Media site, that you can do at home as a family.

Student Chromebooks
Our goal is to provide students with devices and software that enable learning, with student data privacy and cybersecurity at the forefront of our mission. Our schools issue Chromebook laptops to students by class. Middle and high school students may take their devices home at the discretion of the school. Elementary students generally keep their devices at school.
Student device checkouts are governed by policy 3275, as well as our student technology use agreement.
