Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sign up for Summer Strings?
You can fill out an online registration by clicking here.

Where are classes held?
2025 classes will be held from 10:00-11:30 at Skyway Elementary - 6621 N Courcelles Pkway, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815.

How often are classes held?
Summer Strings! meets six times throughout the summer:
June 26 & July 3
July 24 & 31
August 14 & 21

How long are the classes?
Classes are an hour and a half, from 10-11:30. We recommend that students show up a little early (10-15 minutes or so) in order to sign in, get music, get tuned and set up before class begins. Supervision is not provided past 11:30, so please arrive on time to pick up your child.

What will be taught?
Students will receive new music each week consisting of a warm-up, new solos that span a wide variety of styles (pop songs, movie music, classical and fiddling, plus more), and some music theory worksheets to keep their brains fresh.

What is the cost?
This is a FREE class provided to students completing their first or second year of Strings in the Cd'A School District. There is no cost. :-)

Do I have to attend every week?
Nope! Different new music will be learned at each class. Summer is a great time for families to spend time together, so come when you can!  If you'd like to download the Summer Strings packet for a week you miss, it will be available on the website after the class is over.

Do parents need to stay?
Parents are ALWAYS welcome to stay and watch!! It's great to see first-hand what it is your child is learning. If you choose to leave while your child is in class, please be sure to be back in time to pick them up - supervision is NOT provided after class is over.
