Choir, Drama, and Yearbook
Mrs. Reese comes to Woodland MS with many years of experience teaching both vocal and instrumental music (choir, band, orchestra), drama, yearbook, IB music, and ESL. She started her teaching career in Missouri, but within a few years, combined her love of teaching with her love of travel, and took a teaching job in Taipei, Taiwan- at a Chinese high school! After she finished her contract in Taiwan, she returned to Missouri for a few years, where she met her husband, Tom. The two of them decided they would like to travel together, and pursued international teaching as a couple! Their adventures took them to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for many years, then on to Beirut, Lebanon, followed by Lagos, Nigeria, Guangzhou, China, and finally Yangon, Myanmar. Their daughter, Rhiannon, was born in Idaho, but raised in the overseas communities in which they taught.
Laura's love of photography also drew her to work as a wedding photographer in Saudi Arabia for 11 years, and she has had feature articles on local culture, featuring her photography, published in Taipei, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Guangzhou, and Myanmar.
Mrs. Reese's enthusiasm for working with young people keeps her looking for new and innovative music, drama, and yearbook ideas each year. She loves to see her students thrive through performance and hands-on publishing work!
