ALP Teacher

Welcome to the Advanced Learning Program at Ramsey Magnet School of Science.  We will serve the advanced learner in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade for a full day each week. Second grade will also participate for a half day on Monday. Students will explore mini-units in reading, mathematics, and STEM. Each unit will follow the Couer d'Alene SchoolDistrict scope and sequence as well as be aligned with State Standards. Our program will promote additional schoolwide learning opportunities for the Invent Idaho competition, the Spelling Bee, and Math Is Cool competition.

I am a graduate of Bethany University in Santa Cruz, California with a Bachelor's in General Studies. I hold an Idaho State Teacher K-8 Credential. I have recently completed the Gifted Education Specialty Endorsement through Whitworth University. During my 30 plus years in education, I have taught middle school science, upper elementary, Gifted and Talented, and art. This is my third year as the Ramsey ALP teacher.

My family has lived in Coeur d'Alene for seventeen years. When I am not teaching, I am usually gardening, swimming, or exploring the Northwest. My husband, Steve and I are new grandparents. My daughter,Tiffany, and son-in-law Kyle had their first child, Lily, in April. My youngest daughter, Heather, teaches English at Lake City High School.  She is a third generation teacher.

I am looking forward to a wonderful school year of creativity and new learning experiences.
