Tarah Tanner

Tarah Tanner

Hello there, and welcome to our Math 1 class! My name is Ms. Tanner, and I am so excited to be working alongside you this year! I was born and raised right here in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and I’m so proud to be serving the community that helped shape who I am.

I attended Western Governors University for my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education. I believe that success in mathematics doesn't come from being a "natural" genius - it comes from hard work, perseverance, and a willingness to learn from mistakes. My goal as a teacher is to help students build confidence, develop patience, and discover that math is something they can understand and succeed in. With grit and a positive mindset, every student has the potential to grow and achieve their goals.

In Math 1, we’ll explore linear equations, functions, geometry, statistics, and more - all while learning how to think critically and solve real-world problems. Check out our course syllabus here!

Outside of the classroom, I’m a proud mom of two awesome boys who keep me busy on the sidelines of lacrosse and football games. When we’re not at a field, we love spending time outdoors and soaking up everything North Idaho has to offer.

I’m looking forward to a fantastic year together. Let’s make math make sense - and even have some fun along the way!
