Providing the "Least Restrictive Environment (LRE)" is an important part of a child’s education. Our district has been, and still is, required to ensure that “a continuum of alternative placements is available to meet the needs of children with disabilities for special education and related services” [§300.115(a)]. These placement options include:

• Special classes

• Special schools

• Home instruction

• Hospitals and institutions
