Join the Armed Forces
If you’re interested in joining the U.S. military after high school, this section provides helpful resources. Time in the military can teach you a valuable trade; prepare you for a life-long career serving our country; or simply give you time to decide what you want to do next. It can provide valuable experience with good benefits and structure. If you’re not sure which branch to join, consider speaking with a recruiter in your area.
Before you become part of the military, you’ll need to take the ASVAB test. In the sections below, we’ve provided resources and websites to help you prepare.
Military jobs vary greatly, yet each job is essential to the overall mission of defending our country. About 85 percent of military jobs do not involve combat. Service Branches
The military consists of six branches, each with its own specific mission. Each branch is made up of active-duty Service and their respective Guard and Reserve components. Together, they offer a variety of ways to serve and more than 250 different careers.
Recruiters in our Building
A military recruiter can help answer questions about service, providing a positive but realistic assessment of opportunities. A recruiter looks for qualified candidates for their respective branch, and provides information regarding military benefits. Check in at your College and Career Center or check our Calendar to find out the dates of when recruiters will visit your school.
