Emergency Medical Technician Course (LCHS Campus)
During the 2026/2027 SY, NIC Work Force Training Center will be offering the EMT Course on Lake City High School's Campus!
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Technician exam. By passing the NREMT exam you will be a Certified EMT. Students must be 18 years old to take the NREMT exam.
What makes this opportunity unique? Students will earn 2 high school credits, 1 each semester, if they complete this course on Lake City's Campus. It will be a length of 1 period each semester on the student's schedule. NIC WFT will still require lab time outside of the school day (some Friday after school or Saturdays, schedule will be in syllabus handed out).
Attendance Policy? This program has a strict attendance policy. Students are only allowed 2 absence from a classroom session and 1 Saturday practical skills day (that cannot be made up) .
What is the cost? Advanced Opportunities is state funding provided to every student in the State of Idaho to be used for a few different opportunities such as Overload Courses, Dual Credit, AP Exams, and Workforce Training. Each Student has access to $4,625 from the state to use through this program. The cost of the EMT course is currently $2,795 and would qualify under the Advanced Opportunities Program. If you do not have enough State Funding to cover the course due to using some of the money prior to the Fall Semester, the difference would be an out of pocket expense in the Fall for the family due to NIC Work Force Training directly. There are no refunds even if you do not complete the course.
Application must be submitted by 5/13/2026 to be considered for the upcoming School Year.
