Advanced Opportunities

What is Advanced Opportunities Funding?

Every student who attends an Idaho public school is allotted $4,625.00 to use in grades 7-12 through the Advance Opportunities Program. These funds can be used to pay for dual credit, overload courses, work force training courses, and college-credit bearing/professional technical exams.

How Do I Use These Funds?

  1. Turn in an Advanced Opportunities Participation Form to LCHS College and Career or Counseling Office.

    • Only one is required to be on file during a student's time in the CDA School District.

    • You can also email a completed copy to Kourtni Russell or Karina Calderwood

  2. Register and create an account for courses/exams on the Advanced Opportunities Portal

  3. The program will not cover the cost of any course previously paid for.

Flagged Accounts

If a student does not earn credit for a course or exam funded by Advanced Opportunities, their account will be flagged. The student will then be responsible for covering the cost of eligible courses or exams for the following semester they take a qualifying course(s)/exam(s). Once paid for and successfully passed, their flag will be lifted from the account.
