Degrees and Certifications:

Master of Arts in School Counseling in May 2011/Gonzaga University

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Washington

I am Jennifer Zaike, school counselor serving students with last names A-G at Lakes. I graduated from Gonzaga University with a Master of Arts in School Counseling in May 2011. I have been working as a school counselor since 2012, and the majority of my experience has been within a middle school setting. I love middle school because the students are at such a pivotal moment in life, and are very fun to work with. Prior to becoming a school counselor, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Washington in Seattle.

Students are encouraged to fill out a "Counselor Time" slip located in the counseling center when they need to see us for any reason, and we also welcome requests from parents/guardians and school staff. The main topics we discuss with students are academic advising/planning, school performance, as well as personal and social issues. I am proud to be a source of support for the Lakes community. Please let me know if there is anything you need.

Degrees and Certifications:

Undergraduate degree at Gonzaga University (GoZags!)
Masters of Science in Counselor Education from Eastern Washington University

Hi! My name is Emma Young and I am a counselor at Lakes serving students with last names H through O. I completed my undergraduate degree at Gonzaga University in Spokane (GoZags!) and then continued to my education at Eastern Washington University in Cheney where I received my Masters of Science in Counselor Education.

I welcome the opportunity to work with both families and students in order to serve their academic, social, and emotional needs.  I became a school counselor because I am passionate about giving our students the skills and support necessary to be healthy, happy and successful individuals.  If students have a concern and wish to meet with me, there are "Counselor Time" slips located in the front office that they may fill out.  If a aprent or guardian has a question or concern, please feel free to call or e-mail me and I will touch base with you as soon as possible.

Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor degree at Evergreen State College in 2019
Master of Arts in School Counseling at Gonzaga University (Go Zags!).

My name is Ms. Natalie Taylor and I am a school counselor serving students with last names P-Z. This will be my first year at Lakes Middle School, and I am so excited to join the Wolverines! Prior to Lakes, I completed my Bachelor degree at Evergreen State College in 2019, and continued on to complete a Master of Arts in School Counseling at Gonzaga University (Go Zags!). Middle school is a time of immense growth and change and it is my pleasure to support the academic planning, college/career development, social-emotional and personal needs of students as they make their way through Lakes. I strive to support students in working towards our guiding principles; relationships, rigor, and relevance.

It is also important to me as a school counselor to help students feel seen, heard, and valued that serve as contributing members of our school and community. Students are encouraged to fill out a “Counselor Time” slip in the front office if they would like to see us for any questions, concerns, or are in need of support in other ways. Parents/guardians are welcome to call, email, or schedule a time to meet with me in-person or virtually. I look forward to a wonderful school year and to get to know the students and families that make up Lakes Middle School.
