Hello, my name is Jessica Osborne.
I absolutely love working with kids and families!
I have worked in education for over 20 years in various capacities. In 2016, I went back to school to become an elementary school teacher. I graduated from Lewis-Clark State College in 2019 with a B.S. in Elementary Education and a minor in Literacy. I also hold a Reading Specialist Certificate. I am currently in graduate school at Western Governors University, studying Curriculum and Instruction.
In addition to teaching, I am also a Reading Intervention Teacher at Hope Education Consulting. I teach direct and explicit instruction in phonological awareness, decoding skills, phonics, reading, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, writing, and spelling.
Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked for the Redding School District and the Shasta Family YMCA as a program director. During my time as a program director, I was responsible for creating and running afterschool programs and summer day camps. I was also a party planner, CPR & First Aid instructor, and taught babysitting classes.
I am passionate about creating a classroom community and classroom leadership. I do this by creating a student-led environment. In my classroom, you will see students taking agency over their learning. You will also see students synergizing, taking care of one another, discussing ways to improve their classroom community, and setting personal and group goals.
My daughter and I moved to Hayden, ID in 2015 to be closer to my family and to enjoy the beautiful Inland Northwest! I love being creative and spending time with my teenage daughter, Lilly. Together, we love to hike, bake, and travel.
I look forward to meeting all of you and working with your wonderful children!
