Hello! I am proud to be part of the CHS team. I have been in education for 20 years.

I earned my teaching credentials from Whitworth College and my master's from the University of Idaho.  My career has been spent as an English teacher, coach, Principal's Assistant, and now an Assistant Principal.  I have primarily always been in the Coeur D'Alene School District and I enjoy serving the students that are part of my community.

I have been married to my husband Kevin for 24 years and I have two children, Brandon and Annabelle, both former Viking graduates.  We are proud to call Coeur D'Alene our home. It is a beautiful place to live.

I am so grateful to be at Coeur D'Alene High School.   I look forward to working with students and staff day in and day out.  It is my goal to support all students with an equitable and excellent education.

Greetings, Vikings!  I am so honored to serve the community as an assistant principal and activities director at Coeur d'Alene High School.  I hold a B.S. in Physics from Minnesota State University Moorhead, where I had the privilege of competing at the Division II level as a swimming student-athlete, a Masters in Teaching from Minnesota State University Mankato, a Specialist and Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

I have served in a variety of leadership roles in my home state of Minnesota, where I was a science teacher and head coach, prior to my arrival in Coeur d'Alene.  I also have published research focused on supporting freshman students in their transition to high school and have worked as an ambassador and trainer with the American Physical Society and their STEP UP program.

I am excited to now call Coeur d'Alene home and take advantage of the amazing hiking and skiing opportunities.  I love visiting National Parks and am looking forward to crossing several more off my list this year.  I speak French and enjoy taking weekly language classes, and during the winter can be found cheering on the Minnesota Wild hockey team.

I am dedicated to meeting the needs of all students and look forward to partnering with the staff, families, and Coeur d'Alene community to provide an excellent education for our students.

Matt Brown - Dean of Students

Hello Vikings! I am excited to serve Coeur d'Alene High school this year as Dean of Students. This is my eleventh year in education and for the past nine years, I taught the economics classes here at CHS. I started in the Lakeland School District teaching the Gifted and Talented Classes. I received my Bachelor's Degree from the University of Idaho, with a Gift and Talented Endorsement from Boise State University. I am currently working on my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.

Before teaching, I spent 8 years with the ARMY, infantry, and did combat tours in Iraq. I am active in the outdoors and love the  St. Maries area for all outdoor activities. For the past 20 years, I have been happily married to my wife Jennifer, and we have two great children, a senior son and a junior daughter.

I have been the Skeet and Trap assistant head coach and have been with the program since 2016. I absolutely love talking about economics, finances, history, government, and discipline in order to help students better understand these areas and how the world works and operates.
