i-Ready is a diagnostic assessment for mathematics built to support students and teachers in improving student learning. 

The i-Ready diagnostic assessment is a standards-aligned, computer-adaptive assessment that measures how students are progressing toward grade-level standards in math, specifically in these domains:

Math

• Numbers and operations

• Algebra and algebraic thinking

• Measurement and data

• Geometry

The i-Ready diagnostic assessment is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit your student’s needs. Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions. The purpose of this is not to give your student a score or grade, but instead to determine how best to support your student’s learning.

The i-Ready diagnostic assessment is designed for students to get about 50 percent of the questions correct and 50 percent incorrect. The test will find a “just right” placement level for your student in the quickest, most efficient way possible.

The results of this assessment provide teachers with specific standards-based information on student learning and how quickly students are growing. A report of student learning will be provided to each parent or guardian at the end of each progress monitoring window in September, January, and May.

Also, for the 2021-2022 school year, students will be offered lessons after their diagnostic that pinpoint their areas of need. These lessons will adapt or reset each time an additional diagnostic or progress monitoring assessment is taken.have completed their diagnostic assessment.

Students can access their i-Ready diagnostic assessments and lessons through Clever by providing their district email address and password.
