At our school we capture students’ interest through our Discovery classes such as woodworking, pottery, robotics, guitar, and more. Discovery classes are designed to expand students’ horizons by creating new skills and passions for their future endeavors. We offer a variety of Leadership classes to all grade levels that focus on our school culture and community outreach. The Multicultural Faire and Lakesgiving celebration are just a few of the amazing events hosted here. We are thrilled to have you as a part of our family here at Lakes! For questions you can visit the school office from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm on weekdays.
In order to make certain all our students receive appropriate educational supports, Coeur d’Alene School District 271 conducts a mid-year residency verification. Residency is defined as where your family sleeps at night. Has your residency changed since September 4, 2018? If yes AND if any of the following statements are true for your family, please contact your school counselor or the Coeur d’Alene School District McKinney-Vento Liaison, James Curb at 208-664-8241 ext. 10061 or email@example.com for more information about educational services that may be available to your student(s) and family.
- We are doubled up with friends, grandparents, or other family due to economic condition.
- We are living in a motel/hotel because other housing is unattainable.

- We are sleeping in public places or abandoned buildings.
- We are living in a car, trailer or campground.
- We are living in a home for pregnant or unwed mothers without another place in which to live.
- I am a student not in the physical custody of my parents or guardian.

LAKES MAGNET MIDDLE SCHOOL DRESS CODE3255 Student Dress(School District 271)All students are required to dress in a manner that promotes a safe and healthy school environment, and is not disruptive or distracting to the educational climate and process. It is the duty of the Board of Trustees to provide an educational atmosphere conducive to learning, minimizing disruptions or distractions, and to protect the health, safety, and morals of students all students will adhere to the following certain minimum standards of dress when the student is on any school premises or at any school sponsored activity, regardless of location.In general, students are not to wear or carry items of apparel (clothing, accessories, cosmetics, tattoos, jewelry—including body piercings) which depict or allude to, by picture, symbol, or word, drugs, including alcohol and tobacco; controlled substances; drug paraphernalia; gangs; violence; sexually explicit, lewd, indecent, or offensive material; or illegal acts. The wearing, use, or display of any gang clothing or attire (based upon the principal/designee’s reasonable belief that gangs may be present in a school) jewelry, emblem, badge, symbol, sign, codes, or other things which evidence membership or affiliation in any gang is prohibited.Shirts and blouses should be constructed so that the tops of the shoulders are covered with no less than a 2 ½ inch strap. No halter tops, strapless tops, spaghetti straps, or bare shoulder tops of any type will be allowed. Shirts and blouses that expose any portion of the waist, hips, midriff, or breast when worn normally or with arms raised to shoulder level are not allowed. Other shirts or blouses that are not appropriate for school include, but are not limited to, low cut, see through, backless, and tube tops. Undergarments including bras, tank undershirts, etc. may not be visible.All shorts and skirts must be no shorter than mid-thigh from the bottom of the knee. Nylon tights, biker pants, or boxer shorts may not be worn as outer garments. Slits in skirts above mid-thigh are not permitted. Waistlines of shorts, skirts, and pants must be on or above the hips with no underwear showing. All belts must be properly fastened around the waist. Belts may not be excessive in length and may not hang from either side of the body.The building principal or designee may determine appropriate attire options for special activity days.LAKES MIDDLE SCHOOL SPECIFIC DRESS CODEThe following items are in addition to Board Policy 3255.· No torn or ripped jeans that have holes above mid-thigh· No bandanas or hats· All tops must have capped sleeves· Any clothing or personal adornment that Is determined to be disruptive to the learning environment is not allowedIf a student is dressed inappropriately, he/she will be directed to change into acceptable clothing or face disciplinary action.
BOYS & GIRLS CLUB
Lakes is excited about teaming up with the Lola and Duane Hagadone Boys and Girls Club. The club is located next door to Lakes and has been providing safe and fun activities and opportunities for students across the district!
The club is open to ages 6-18. The membership is $20.00 for the school year and $20.00 for the summer. A great place for your teen to hang out after school.
