Welcome to Lakes!


    Welcome to Lakes Magnet Middle School, the Home of the Wolverines.  We are very proud of our high achieving students and great staff. We offer Magnet classes that emphasize advanced learning in Science, Arts and Health. We take pride in our community and are in involved with many community events such as our Multi-Cultural Faire, Second Harvest and Kindergarten Buddies. Our Office Staff is available to help 7:30AM to 3:00PM Monday thru Friday if you need help during the school year.





    In order to make certain all our students receive appropriate educational supports, Coeur d’Alene School District 271 conducts a mid-year residency verification. Residency is defined as where your family sleeps at night. Has your residency changed since September 6, 2016? If yes AND if any of the following statements are true for your family, please contact your school counselor or the Coeur d’Alene School District McKinney-Vento Liaison, James Curb at 208-664-8241 ext. 1061or for more information about educational services that may be available to your student(s) and family.

    · We are doubled up with friends, grandparents, or other family due to economic condition.
    · We are living at a motel / hotel because other housing is unattainable.
    · We are living in a domestic violence shelter.
    · We are living in transitional housing.
    · We are sleeping in public places or abandoned buildings.
    · We are living in a car, trailer or campground.
    · We are living in a home for pregnant or unwed mothers without another place in which to live.
    · I am a student not in the physical custody of my parents or guardian.




    Boys and Girls Club

    Boys and Girls Club Lakes is excited about teaming up with the Lola and Duane Hagadone Boys and Girls Club.  The club is located next door to Lakes and has been providing safe and fun activities and opportunities for students across the district!  

    The club is open for ages 6-18. The membership is $20.00 for the school year and $20.00 for the summer. A great place for your teen to hang out after school.

  • Summer Information for Lakes

    FREE SUMMER MEALS AT LAKES THIS SUMMER:  School District 271 Nutrition Services is excited to partner with the U.S. Department of Agriculture to make sure our community's children receive healthy, well-balanced meals while school is out.  Any child aged 1 through 18 may come and eat for free. Adults eat for $2.40 at breakfast and only $3.65 at lunch.  


    June 15 - Aug 18

    8:00-9:00 a.m. (breakfast)

    11:00-12:30 p.m. (lunch)

    Online Registration

    Online registration for returning students to our district will open in July.  Please watch your email for information from our District Office.


    New Student Registration

    Registration for new students to our district will be on Tuesday, August 22nd from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

    Back to School Information

    Welcome back to the 2017-2018 school year, come and join us for our back to school events!!  Come tour the school, visit your teachers, bring school supplies to your locker, and enjoy a great BBQ with everyone!  These are both scheduled tours of the school with an agenda for the evening.  Please plan to be here the entire time.

Dress Code:

  • Dress Code Information

    Please review our District Dress Code when preparing for back to school.
    Just a reminder of the following list below.
    • Shorts  and skirts must be mid-thigh
    • No pajama bottoms
    • No  bedroom slippers
    • Shirts must have sleeves that cover shoulders.
    • No tops that show cleavage
    • No torn or ripped jeans that have holes above mid thigh
    • No wristbands and sweatbands
    • No bandanas
    • Any clothing or personal adornment that’s determined to be disruptive to the learning environment
    • If a student is dressed inappropriately, he/she will be directed to change into acceptable clothing or face disciplinary action.
