In order to make certain all our students receive appropriate educational supports, Coeur d’Alene School District 271 conducts a mid-year residency verification. Residency is defined as where your family sleeps at night. Has your residency changed since September 4, 2019? If yes AND if any of the following statements are true for your family, please contact your school counselor or the Coeur d’Alene School District McKinney-Vento Liaison, James Curb at 208-664-8241 ext. 10061 or email@example.com for more information about educational services that may be available to your student(s) and family.
- We are doubled up with friends, grandparents, or other family due to economic condition.
- We are living in a motel/hotel because other housing is unattainable.
- We are living in a domestic violence shelter.
- We are living in transitional housing.
- We are sleeping in public places or abandoned buildings.
- We are living in a car, trailer or campground.
- We are living in a home for pregnant or unwed mothers without another place in which to live.
- I am a student not in the physical custody of my parents or guardian.

**FREE SCHOOL SUPPLIES** Thanks to donations from local businesses and our Home on the Homefront team, backpacks, and school supplies are available this year for those in need. To request supplies, contact the CHS front office sometime between August 27 and the first day of school, September 4. Questions? Fall Sports Begin in Early August
Be sure to register your student-athlete at www.registermyathlete.com and turn all required paperwork into the Activities Office no later than June 18th! Please see attached CHS Activities Parent Information sheet for details.
New Student Registration Information for the 2020-2021 School Year
Our boundaries have recently changed, please refer to the cdaschools.org website to verify your address in the attendance zone finder.
If you live in the Coeur d'Alene High School Zone, please email Lori at email@example.com to start the registration process. Please email your name, address, student name and grade and let us know if you have the ability to download and scan documents or if we need to mail them to you.
Please note that in order to register your student, we will need the following information:
- Birth Certificate
- Immunization Record
- Proof of Residency (Utility bill or lease)
- Copy of Parent / Guardian Driver's License
- Transcript (if student has already attended high school)
- Copy of IEP or 504 if applicable.
After we have all the required documentation, we will register your student and make an appointment to meet with a CHS counselor to request classes for next year.
FREE SUICIDE PREVENTION TRAINING:
We invite our families, staff, students and community members to join us for free QPR suicide prevention training. New training dates will be posted as available. No training dates scheduled at this time.

YOU ALSO CAN CALL the Northern Idaho Crisis Center at 208-625-4884. The Crisis Center helps people 18 and older who are having a mental health crisis. The Crisis Center is a joint project between the Panhandle Health District, Kootenai Health and Heritage Health. The center is free, safe, private, and voluntary.

About Coeur d’Alene High School

Our administrative team is here to serve you this year. Libbi Barrett, Principal and Bill White Assistant Principal and Mike Randles Activities Director/Assistant Principal.
The ultimate goal at Coeur d'Alene High School is to provide the highest quality education to our students. We will aim for learners to reach their full potential academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Instruction will be purposeful; it will differentiate to meet the needs of all students; regular feedback will be given to all participants.
The single most important priority of Coeur d'Alene High School is our students. The school community works cooperatively together for the greater good of everyone involved.
Even though it is still summer, we are excited to get the year started. We have already begun discussing our goals for the upcoming school year. Two of the goals we are adamant about are:
- Relationships. We are committed to building strong Viking relationships with our students, families, and our community.
- Communication. Our team believes open communication is vital to having healthy relationships. We welcome you to contact us at any time to discuss your needs and/or concerns. In addition, we will be sending out brief emails on a regular basis to let you know of upcoming events and to recognize groups and individuals.
