Our school
is located in the southeast corner of Coeur d'Alene in a beautiful setting
surrounded by trees. We take pride in our friendly and caring atmosphere
dedicated to quality education for all learners. The school opened its doors
in the fall of 1993. Fernan Elementary provides education to approximately
500 students in preschool through Grade 5. The district preschool program
for 80+ children with special needs is housed at Fernan. Click here to read

International Baccalaureate
Programme (IBO): Fernan is
proud to be working on becoming an IBO school, called
PYP (Primary Years Program) at the
elementary level. To find out more about this program,

The prototypical
building, sitting on a 12-acre wooded site, won an international
architectural design award.
We have a
character education program that teaches the traits of responsibility,
respect, caring, human rights, honesty, cooperation, excellence, and
perseverance.

We are fortunate to have an active PTA that sponsors events such as the
Back-to-School Open House, Fernando's Ristorante (spaghetti dinner and
fundraiser), and academic programs such as the Invention Convention, and
Spelling and Geography Bees. The PTA’s efforts also provide financial
support for every teacher and their students.
