The Board of Trustees for Coeur d’Alene Public Schools declared a vacancy for the Zone 3 trustee position at Monday’s board meeting, upon accepting the resignation of Trustee Tambra Pickford. The board will appoint a person to serve the remainder of the current term through December 2023.
The Board of Trustees asks any eligible community member interested in applying for the open trustee position to submit an application by Thursday, November 4, at 12 p.m. to the Clerk of the Board, Lynn Towne, at 1400 N. Northwood Center Ct., Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814.
Board member eligibility requires the applicant be a registered voter in the school district with residency in the zone that he or she represents. The Zone 3 trustee represents residents in the northwest portion of the school district. A map and legal description of the zone can be found on the district website at cdaschools.org/trusteezones
PLEASE NOTE: ZONE 3 MAP CHANGE
We encourage potential Board applicants to make sure they still reside in Zone 3 after a scheduled zone boundary revision takes effect in January 2022. The proposed changes to the Zone 3 boundary are the result of the required Zone Equalization process conducted this year. The northeast and southeast corners of Zone 3 will move outside the zone. Both the current Zone 3 map and the proposed Zone 3 map, along with a detailed description of the changes, can be found at cdaschools.org/trusteezones
An application packet must include:
1. Letter of Interest (typed, 12-point font, up to 2 pages) that includes:
- Contact information: telephone, email and residential address
- A statement about your background
- The main reasons for applying for the trustee position
- Your top three objectives if appointed to the position
- Affiliation(s) with the District e.g. PTA, School Volunteer, Past or Present Committee Participation, etc.
The Board of Trustees will review all applications and may appoint a candidate at a public meeting that will be scheduled in November. The meeting will take place at Midtown Center, 1505 N. 5 th Street, Coeur d’Alene.
