Hello and welcome! Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Carol Behrens and I am so excited to be teaching second grade! I look forward to working with both you and your child this year.I am originally from Arizona but have spent several years living in beautiful Northern Idaho as well as on the rolling plains of Nebraska. I received my Bachelor's degree in Recreation from Arizona State University and my Master's of Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. I have been a teacher for 8 years as well as a coach and fitness instructor.My husband is a Wildland Fire Manager with the Forest Service - we love Smokey the Bear at our house! I have a son at Lake City High School and a daughter and another son at the U of I. Go Vandals!!-I love spending time outdoors with my family. We like to camp, kayak, and paddle board. We are enjoying the four seasons - the gardening and the skiing. I love to run, but it has been a little harder to get up and run on cold winter mornings than it was it Arizona!As I send my own children off to school, it is with the hope that their teachers will really get to know them. I want their teachers to know what motivates them, what they care about, what their strengths and struggles are. I want my children's teachers to treat them with compassion and respect. I promise you that I will do the same with your child.
