  • Message from Superintendent Cook

Staff photo of Superintendent Cook. “Welcome to Coeur d'Alene Public Schools!” I have both heard that statement from many and expressed that sentiment to many in my new role as Superintendent of CdA Schools. I am very humbled, honored, and excited to be a part of this amazing school district!

Let my first act as the Superintendent of CdA Schools be officially welcoming you and your student to our district. We aim to provide an amazing, fulfilling, and relevant education for your student – one that prepares your student for whatever path they choose, and one that does so on a level that makes them highly competitive in a world-wide job market! At CdA Schools, we value challenging and enriching educational experiences, one that every student feels true ownership of, and one where every family feels proud of their student’s success.

I am committed to three things: A deep and intentional focus on a coherent learning experience for all students; high expectations for all; and to educating the whole child to prepare them to participate and lead in a society that has enormous expectations waiting for our students. Whether your student seeks to one day be challenged in career and technical education, advanced placement coursework, or both – please look to take advantage of all that we can provide to meet your student’s needs and expectations.

As we continue to build upon this learning community, please partner with us to support all of our students as we endeavor to provide every child with opportunities to enrich their learning and create life-changing impact. By working together, we can create a world full of opportunities for our kids.

I have much to learn about the Coeur d'Alene Community and I am excited to have started that process, so feel welcomed to help me with that journey by reaching out!  Please do not hesitate to contact me here at the school district office!

    With much gratitude,

    Dr. Steven Cook

    Superintendent of Schools
