At Ramsey, teachers use an inquiry-based, hands-on approach to the study of science. Big ideas in science are integrated into language arts, reading and math curriculum. Students participate in a variety of science-related experiences throughout the year, learning the problem-solving and critical thinking skills needed to "think like scientists." Students excel at Ramsey due to high expectations for all students, a supportive learning environment, and frequent monitoring of teaching and learning. Science-related experiences include clubs, field trips, exploratory classes, science fairs, hands-on lab kits, assemblies, guest speakers, robotics, and much more!
We are a School-Wide Title School with a highly qualified staff dedicated to nurturing students' individual talents, strengths and needs. Through our study of monthly character traits, we strive to strengthen each student’s sense of responsibility, respect, kindness, honesty, cooperation, excellence, perseverance and human rights.
Parents and the community are partners in educating Ramsey’s students. Opportunities to volunteer in our classrooms or to help with extracurricular activities abound. Our PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) supports Ramsey’s teachers and students through school-wide fundraising, the organization of volunteers, classroom mini-grants, technology purchases, grant writing and much more! On our Science Sponsor page, you can see this year’s generous Science Sponsors, often business partners in the community. Each day our Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) welcome students to school, volunteer in classrooms, and positively interact with students on the playground and in the cafeteria. We welcome your partnership in educating your children and are honored to be entrusted with your most precious gifts.
