• Welcome to Borah Elementary and the 2017-2018 school year!

I am honored to have been appointed as your new principal and would like to introduce myself.

For as long as I remember, I have had a passion for helping children - whether that was in sports or the classroom. The past two years I have been an instructional coach for the Coeur d’Alene School District and have had the privilege to support many classrooms and schools. In addition, I have been involved in a variety of professional learning experiences and leadership opportunities. Prior to this, I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade at River City Middle School in Post Falls, and during my internship I taught 2nd and 6th grade in Athol Elementary, Athol.

I have a wonderfully supportive husband and three children. All three of my children were Bryan Bears, Canfield Cougars, and CHS Vikings so I am happy to say I raised my children in this district. My family is very active! We love to golf, bowl, camp, hike, fish, play and watch baseball, ride four-wheelers, and enjoy our family pets.

As principal, I bring an unwavering commitment to creating vibrant and successful learning experiences for all of our students. My desire is to help students and teachers innovate, continually reflect, and seek solutions which help us all reach our goals. I strive to inspire and create a shared vision of excellence, and to regard relationships among staff, students, and parents as a key to success where students are at the center of all decision-making.

In an effort to make you aware of information, I will be communicating via newsletter monthly. This month, I want to highlight parking. When you pick up your students after school, please help us with the congestion on the south side of the school. You are welcome to park in either of the church parking lots, and then walk across the street to the gate. We would ask you not to park along the street by the crosswalks as this does create a safety issue for all of us. Thank you for your support to provide a safe release for our students.

I look forward to working with the dedicated staff and teachers of Borah Elementary, as well as our supportive community to help our children of Borah succeed. I believe it takes a village to raise our children. Please let me know if you have questions, concerns, or comments. You can reach me by email or call the school. Together, let’s make 2017-2018 a successful school year!

    Respectfully,
