Happy Fall to everyone! I love this time of year as we have nice, sunny weather in the 60’s/70’s (we hope anyway). We are off to an awesome start at Canfield. I am excited about the positive staff and student energy. We are facing some student, and at times staff, absences due to Covid. When this happens, communication is key for everyone to do their best to stay caught up for their return. We all want kids attending in person learning, so let’s stay home when sick and come to school when healthy.
On Wednesday, September 29th, you should receive the first round of progress reports for the year via email. Progress reports will be emailed approximately every three weeks on Wednesdays, but grades can be viewed daily on Family Access. Family Access is a user friendly web-based program that allows you to track your student’s progress daily (it is a live look into each teacher’s gradebook). If you need information or a password, contact our front office. When you view Family Access, focus on the first semester grade (S1). Also, make sure to click on the actual letter grade to see assignments. If you have any questions or concerns about your student’s grades, contact your child’s individual teachers or the counselor to set up an appointment. Please don’t wait on grade concerns; we want to form a cohesive team right away to make your child successful.
We will be scheduling October 20th parent/teacher conferences for those students who have been identified as having academic difficulties to begin the school year. Only parents who are contacted need to come to this conference night; however, we do leave some open spots for parent requests. If you would like to request a teacher conference, please contact Holly Lippy in our front office.
We appreciate your support this school year. We are excited to have students in school. Please know my door is open, and I am open to your comments, questions, and or feedback.
