Fourth grade students at Skyway Elementary School are expected to work more independently, maintain academic focus, and develop more responsibility than in previous years. This is the year that they begin reading to learn rather than learning to read. For this reason, reading comprehension is paramount in our language arts program. In writing, we are working on the six traits, focusing mainly on ideas, organization, and mechanics.
