We truly enjoy each day that we spend with your child. Thank you for sharing your child with us! The highlight of first grade is becoming a more confident and skilled reader. We believe the more exposure a child has to reading experiences, the more successful they will become. Daily phonics instruction, guided and independent reading, writing workshops, journals, publishing writing, and reading aloud daily are some of the learning tools we use in school to build the reading writing connection. Reading to and with your child at home is a gift that will help your child have more success at school ( and life!)! We encourage you to arrange time for twenty minutes of reading for your child each day.
