Celebrating Our Partners 

The Coeur d’Alene School District’s Friend of 271 initiative is a fundamental component of the district’s community relations program. Through this initiative, the district will recognize and celebrate community partners who go above and beyond in their own unique ways to support our shared community and 271’s students, teachers, and staff; our schools; our programming; our mission, vision, and values.   

Who are the Friends of 271?

Friends of 271 are everywhere in our community. They are individuals of all ages; private businesses; nonprofit and for-profit organizations; local, state and federal government offices; 271 students, parents/families; other school district students, parents/families, and staff; elected officials at all levels; civic groups; colleges and universities; faith-based organizations; industry associations; student groups; grassroots coalitions; and many more. They are there, day after day and year after year, supporting public education in so many ways through their generous donations, organizing events, and volunteering to support students and staff. 

The Coeur d’Alene School District is not an island. Our 1,300 employees and 10,000+ students are part of a growing, thriving community of about 180,000. Our 17 schools are nestled in neighborhoods from Coeur d’Alene to Dalton Gardens to Hayden. Each school year we work to educate our students from kindergartners to high school graduates. But we don’t do it alone - it takes the combined efforts of an entire community. The people we share our community with have high expectations for public education and student achievement. So do we. In order to clear that high bar, District 271 must have solid and effective relationships with others across the community. The Friends of 271 initiative provides the district with an opportunity to celebrate others for their contributions and support for what we do. 

We have had the honor to recognize Parker Toyota, Northwest Specialty Hospital, and the CDA Kroc Center with the first three Friend of 271 awards. Click on the left side navigation to learn more about each organization.
