"Mistakes are proof that you are trying."

This is an important motto we have in class, especially because it is all math based!

Welcome to the wonderful world of ALP Mathematics! My goal is to not only teach our amazing 3rd-5th grade ALP students math concepts and skills, but take them a step further and show them how it applies to everyday life! The age old question of, "When will I ever need to use that?" is what I hope to answer through hands-on activities, real-world projects, and student lead discussion. There are many "ah-ha!" moments in our class because each and every student in class knows how important their opinions are, and builds the confidence to respectfully question each other's answers.  Walking through the "how" and "why" a concept works, allows the students the opportunity to explore any misconceptions and fix mistakes made along the way.

I received my Multi-Subject teaching credential in 2001 and have taught kindergarten, 1st grade, 4th grade, and also taught in a high school setting with an emphasis on math, my favorite! I have been teaching as the ALP Math instructor at Hayden Meadows since 2018. Aside from word problems and PEMDAS, I enjoy spending my free time with my wonderful husband and 2 amazing daughters, who keep us busy with many sports and co-curricular activities. We love being outside and enjoying nature at its best!

I am here for my students and welcome any questions! Feel free to contact me: lmeine@cdaschools.org

Blessings for a wonderful year!

Math Rule: If at first you don't succeed, try doing what your math teacher told you to do the first time!
