Welcome to first grade! My name is Kelly Bright and I am happy to be a part of the Ramsey 1 st
grade team! After graduating from Northern Arizona University in 2000 with a BA
Psychology/Spanish minor, I completed a post-graduate teaching program at the University of
San Diego and began teaching in 2001. I taught primary grades full time for 12 years before
taking time to be a stay-at-home mom for my two boys, working part time as a private tutor and
school Interventionist. I have returned to teaching full time now that both of my kids are in
school full time.
My husband also teaches first grade, in Post Falls, where we live. Our boys attend his school
and are in fourth and first grades... So, my life is very much centered around first grade! When
I’m not at school, you might find me with my family hiking and enjoying the beauty of North
Idaho. Or you might run into me on the soccer field or in the public library where I will be
checking out mystery novels to read while enjoying a good cup of coffee.
I have loved school ever since I was in first grade and my teacher, Miss M., made the world of
learning come to life. My hope as a teacher is always that I can help spark a love of learning in
my students as we work and grow together in first grade!
Since I’m a busy mom in the evenings, before school is the ideal time to get ahold of me. The
best way to reach me is by email or Class Dojo.
