Four School Programs
Our district offers full-day kindergarten at four schools: Borah, Bryan, Fernan STEM, and Winton. All kindergarten students in these four schools benefit from more learning time learning for reading, writing, math, social skills, as well as all kinds of exploration and learning activities.
These full-day classrooms are tuition-free and funded in part by federal Title funds as well as local levy funds as Idaho state currently funds only half-day kindergarten programs.
NEW! Full-Day Tuition Based Kindergarten PilotIn May 2017, our school board approved a tuition-based all-day kindergarten pilot program for the 2018-19 school year. The new pilot program adds one full-day classroom at Sorensen Magnet School and one at Hayden Meadows Elementary.This program expands upon the traditional half-day kindergarten program, allowing parents to pay tuition for an extra session so their child may attend full-time.This program is currently full with a waitlist.If the program is extended into the 2019-20 school year and beyond, applications for Full-Day Kindergarten and information about the program will be added to this page as soon as it is available.

What is Tuition Based Full-Time Kindergarten?
Full-Time Kindergarten is an extra session of kindergarten in which parents pay tuition for their child to attend. The session expands upon the traditional half-day kindergarten program. All children enrolling in kindergarten must be five years old on or before September 1 of the school year in which the child enrolls.
What is the cost of the Tuition Based Full-Time Kindergarten?

Annual Tuition $2,475 / Monthly Tuition $275 per month
Monthly tuition will be paid by direct withdrawal from a bank account.
Which schools offer Tuition Based Full-Time Kindergarten?
For the 2018-2019 school year, Hayden Meadows Elementary and Sorensen Magnet will each offer one class of Full-Day Kindergarten. Students zoned to Hayden Meadows or accepted to Sorensen Magnet were given priority. A wait list has been established.
What if my school doesn’t offer Tuition Based Full-Time Kindergarten?
If your school doesn’t offer the program, or if the program at your school is full, you may submit an application for open enrollment at another school that offers the program and has space available during our regular open enrollment window and process. Parents are responsible for transportation.
