Hello,
My name is Elizabeth Smith. I am thrilled to be teaching 7th grade Life Science and 8th grade Earth Science at Lakes Middle School. This is my sixth year of teaching. Previously, I've worked with children for the past 15 years in the mental health field. I am looking forward to combining my knowledge to enhance my teaching and promote not only academic intelligence, but emotional intelligence, as well.
I am married to a wonderful man, Josh, and we have twin boys that are entering 6th grade at Lakes Middle School, Asher and Landon. When outside of school, we are always out exploring the mountains, lakes, forests, and any other activity that North Idaho has to offer as a family. I find the mountains and the water to be my happy place.
In my class, all students will have high, consistent, individualized expectations based on Idaho State Standards. These standards promote higher level thinking and questioning which will be enhanced through hands-on exploration. There will be clear and concise expectations stated daily. The classroom will be a safe and engaging place for each student to excel and continue to grow daily.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call or email.
I look forward to working in combination with parents to promote growth in each and every student!
