District Magnet Schools
Applications are being accepted for students to attend any of our three magnet schools for the 2021-22 school year. There are two K-5 elementary magnet schools (Ramsey and Sorensen) as well as our new K-12 magnet school (yet to be named), which will open in September 2021.
There are two application windows for our magnet schools:
March 8 – April 16 (Initial selection for available spots)
April 19 – August 13 (For any remaining available spots)
Sorensen Magnet School of Arts and Humanities and Ramsey Magnet School of Science are accepting applications for students who will be entering kindergarten through 5th grade. Applications may be picked up at those magnet school offices between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., or you may download one from the school websites.
Applicants will be accepted based on available openings. If there are more applicants than space available, a lottery process will be used to select students at each grade level. Within 15 days of the close of the enrollment period, families will be notified of the status of their application.
Please note: Even if you live in a magnet school attendance zone, new applicants are not guaranteed enrollment. Be sure to submit your application as soon as possible to increase your child’s chances of securing a spot. At this time our magnet schools cannot accept applications from families living outside our school district.
Our new K-12 Project-Based Magnet School is accepting applications for students who will be entering kindergarten through 12th grade. The application form may be picked up at the District Office, 1400 N. Northwood Center Court, Coeur d'Alene; or at our CdA eSchool office, 9650 No. Government Way, Hayden. The application also is available online:
