Hello Hayden Meadows Families!  My name is Kelly Reynolds and I am so happy to be your new School Counselor.

My role at Hayden Meadows is to support the educational, emotional, behavioral and social growth of each student. I offer a variety of services to benefit the needs of each student which include individual and group counseling, classroom guidance lessons, crisis intervention, family support, consultation, collaboration, and resource referrals.

I will strive to connect with all students during recess, lunch or before/after school. Students needing additional support may be referred by a parent, teacher, principal, self referral, or outside agency. Common School Counseling topics include, changing families, conflict resolution, anger management, social skills, self esteem, and friendship. I offer small groups for students needing additional support in learning new skills and connecting with other students for support. Small groups are an effective way for students to find commonality, express emotions, and practice skills with each other, in safe environment.

Classroom guidance lessons are also provided throughout the year and will address emotions, skills for learning and how to have positive interactions with one another. Through these lessons, I will teach positive coping and communication skills while discouraging bullying and hurtful behavior. My focus will be on helping children develop personal responsibility, self-control and good decision making skills.

Please feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions or if there is something that I can do to better support your student's learning this year.
